Shan’t: A Haiku

Machines scythed sad sod,
Stone slab seat tempts not one bod:
Shan't parks leave us... awed?

(Disclaimer: To be fair, the park itself where I took this photo is expansive and, refreshingly, offers some beneficial areas of native plants, which is great to see… but still WAAYYYY too much grass that just gets mowed and provides little other value for people or wildlife. Sadly, this is status quo for all too many other parks in so many communities. Let’s change that, shan’t we?!?)
