In the cold, dreary season otherwise known as Northeast winter, finding any splash of color in nature can result in a minor celebration, for me, at least.
The journey for these searing red holly berries flamed out just a few yards from their home tree, but they at least brightened my day during a recent walk around my neighborhood.
Rest assured, the burst of spring hues will arrive soon.
In the meantime, however, I’ll take solace in knowing that beauty can appear when least expected, even in the unassuming crevice of a slab of gray, lifeless concrete at my feet.
Stay warm and dream vivid dreams, my friends.
